Wisconsin Socialist Gov Candidate’s Campaign Denies She Wants to Abolish Senate, Despite Post From Campaign Acct Saying ‘Abolish the Senate’ www.westernjournal.com

Francesca Hong is the latest Democratic Socialists of America darling to shoot to a surprising lead in a Democratic primary, this one for Wisconsin governor.

This has been a boon for U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, the unopposed Republican candidate for governor. He’s been noting that Hong, a former ramen shop owner and state assembly member, seems to echo a lot of the DSA’s radical agenda — including abolishing the U.S. Senate.

Hong’s campaign accused him of “telling lies and inventing quotes,” saying she never called for abolishing the Senate.

Except, of course, for that one time she posted on her current campaign account, “Abolish the Senate.”

The to-do began on Sunday, when DSA co-chair Megan Romer went viral for defending her positions on Fox News. This includes abolishing the police, abolishing prisons, abolishing the Senate, defunding the Department of War, and other such fun stuff.

“This sounds a lot like DSA-backed @FrancescaHongWI,” Tiffany said in an X post, along with the Romer video. “Socialism is knocking on Wisconsin’s door. This November, we slam it shut.”

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added five candidates to its “Red to Blue” program on Tuesday, expanding its list of top recruits as Democrats work to reclaim the House majority in November.

The additions, spanning Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, and Montana, bring the committee’s flagship program to 30 candidates in competitive districts across the country.

“In less than 100 days, Democrats will take back the House majority and it will be powered by our incredible candidates such as the five named to Red to Blue today,” DCCC Chairwoman Suzan DelBene (D-WA) said in a statement. “Whether in suburban, rural or redistricted seats, the American people have soured on Republicans’ broken promises and failure to lower costs. Voters are outraged by higher prices on everything and a war of choice spiraling out of control. They are eager for change and new leaders who will fight for them, not be a rubber stamp for Donald Trump.”

The “Red to Blue” program provides Democratic candidates in competitive races with financial support, strategic guidance, and additional campaign resources. Candidates qualify based on factors including fundraising, grassroots engagement, local support, and campaign organization.

The Marxist-Islamist Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, has just released what appears to be a de facto proscription list for his foreign-paid street fighters to target. He released a list of property owners, including their names and addresses, who own another home outside the city.

While the information is public, the signal is clear; Attack these people. Mamdani ally and national Democrat Socialists of America co-chair Megan Romer made that clear when she said on Fox News “We will win by making conditions so intolerable to the ruling class that they would rather give in to our demands than live with the disturbance we cause.” Disturbance is a dog whistle for violence. Ruling Class is a dog whistle for white people.

Mamdani Doxxes NYC Property Owners, Quietly Expands Reach of New Tax legalinsurrection.com

New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani is facing widespread criticism after his administration on Monday published a searchable database identifying wealthy property owners who may be subject to the city’s pied-à-terre tax. The administration says the database is intended to promote transparency. Critics, however, argue it effectively “doxxes” property owners by making them easier to identify and locate, unnecessarily exposing them to harassment, vandalism, and even potential acts of violence.

Mamdani is also drawing criticism for including properties valued between $1 million and $5 million in the database, despite repeatedly promoting the pied-à-terre tax as applying only to properties worth $5 million or more. As it turns out, that was part of the plan — which I’ll return to shortly.

The Department of Finance’s online database allows anyone to search properties and access the names and addresses of owners whose non-primary residences could be affected by the proposed tax.

A Department of Finance spokesperson told Fox News that state law required the publication of the property assessment roll: “As per State law, a property roll was released for public inspection. From this list, DOF will identify properties that may be subject to the new non-primary residence property surcharge.”

It’s true that property records have long been public. Even so, aggregating the city’s most expensive properties into a single, searchable database that anyone can access strikes me as dangerous. There’s no shortage of bad actors who could exploit such a list for nefarious purposes, from political targeting to criminal activity.

The New York Post editorial board called the database Mamdani’s “enemies of the people” list and asked why no one at City Hall stopped this “amateur-hour idiocy?”

Because the Democratic Socialist crew is obsessed with naming and shaming their “class enemies”: As national DSA co-chair Megan Romer explained on Fox News Sunday, “We will win by making conditions so intolerable to the ruling class that they would rather give in to our demands than live with the disturbance we cause.”

Republicans are lashing out at New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani after he announced the city had taken a significant step forward in securing millions in taxes owed by the city’s ultrawealthy residents.

Mamdani said on Thursday that notices had been sent out informing owners of second homes worth $5 million or more that the pied-à-terre tax put in place by the state’s Democrats is coming soon.

Under current law, the properties are undertaxed, and plans are to apply the money that will be raised to help address New York’s budget deficit.

“The best city in the world deserves the best parks, libraries, and schools in the world. That’s only possible when we all pay our fair share,” Mamdani wrote.

An April estimate from the New York City comptroller analyzed the tax and found that it could provide as much as $510 million annually if fully implemented.

The news follows massive criticism of the city’s response to the Bite of Seattle mass shooting.

Multiple sources told The Post Millennial Wednesday evening that Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson has asked Police Chief Shon Barnes to resign, ending his tenure just days after the deadly Bite of Seattle mass shooting intensified scrutiny of his leadership, his frequent travel, and his absence from the city during the tragedy.

Barnes was spotted leaving a vigil for the victims of the shooting in Seattle Center by Post Millennial staff before the event began and went to City Hall, where he was asked to resign

Fox 13 reported that Barnes began texting people Wednesday night about his dismissal. Wilson’s office has not replied to requests for comment.

The move comes after a tumultuous week for Barnes, who faced mounting criticism over both the police response to the shooting and his own whereabouts when it unfolded.

Three people were killed, and several others were wounded Sunday evening after gang members opened fire during the closing hours of the Bite of Seattle festival. Barnes was in Dallas attending a National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives conference when the shooting occurred.

CNN feted self-avoided Marxist Hasan Piker on their “Whole Story” episode called “The Left Insurgency.” The show was billed as an objective examination of the rise of the Democratic Socialists. It ended up being a celebration of the rise of the DSA, with Hasan Piker featured in the event at the beginning and the end.

Hasan Piker has endorsed terrorism by Hamas and by Antifa regularly on his twitch streams, where hundreds of thousands of children and young adults regularly hear messages endorsing political violence. Piker ended the “documentary” by declaring “there is 0% chance that whoever the elected Democrat is that wins the primary will be pro-Israel in any way, shape or form. You’ll see.”

PROPAGANDA: The CNN DSA Special Was Really a Hasan Piker Infomercial www.newsbusters.org

EXCERPT:

On Sunday, CNN aired a “Whole Story” special on what it called “The Left Insurgency”, which is Elitist Media shorthand for the DSA takeover of the Democrat Party. The documentary, hosted by Donie O’Sullivan, promised to examine the “new generation” of Democrat voters and include some Democrat dissenters. In the end, though, the doc proved to be little more than a promotional vehicle for Hasan Piker, who infamously said that America deserved 9/11.

The documentary is bookended, in fact, by Piker. O’Sullivan opens the doc with their interactions at the 2024 Democratic convention and closes it out with Piker’s prediction that the 2028 Democrat nominee won’t be an Israel supporter. Following that initial interaction with Piker, first mention of David Hogg and a cringe-inducing chat with actress Cynthia Nixon at a No Kings Rally, one gets the first serious indicator that this is little more than a fluff piece.

DONIE O’SULLIVAN: The issues that Piker and Hogg were talking about back in Chicago have come to play a defining role in the fight for the future of the Democratic Party.

PANEL MODERATOR: Is Israel committing genocide in Gaza?

O’SULLIVAN: Hogg and Piker are now part of an insurgency.

KAITLAN COLLINS: Hogg has pledged to spend millions funding primary challenges to what he calls “asleep-at-the-wheel Democrats.”

O’SULLIVAN: Hasan Piker, who, to quote Politico…

BILL SAMMON: …is driving a wedge in the Democratic Party

O’SULLIVAN: …an insurgency against centrist Democrats, one that is challenging party norms.

JONATHAN LEMIRE: These races do seem representative of the real struggle the party is going through right now post-2024.

O’SULLIVAN: And energizing young voters.

BRIAN ROMERO: Abolish ICE, free Palestine, and tax the (…) rich.

O’SULLIVAN: An insurgency that hopes to spark a revolution in the Democratic Party.

O’Sullivan then goes on to establish the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) as the heart of this insurgency, by “pulling the Democratic Party to the left”, a big downplay of the DSA agenda.

RALLY ATTENDEES: DSA! DSA! DSA!

O’SULLIVAN: At the heart of the insurgency is the DSA, the Democratic Socialists of America. The DSA is the largest socialist political organization in the country, and it’s working to pull the Democratic Party to the left.

RALLY HOST: Senator Bernie Sanders!

O’SULLIVAN: Today, they are holding a rally here in the Bronx in support of their New York candidates.

BERNIE SANDERS: Thank you. It is not Bernie. It is you. It’s all of us together. The work that you did to elect Zohran (Mamdani) as mayor will not only impact this city, it is reverberating all over the world.

O’SULLIVAN: You’re a democratic socialist.

DARIALIZA AVILA-CHEVALIER: I am.

O’SULLIVAN: You’ve never run for office before. Darializa Avila Chevalier is one of the candidates running for DSA in New York.

AVILA-CHEVALIER: Folks need to be able to see themselves in the Democratic Party again. I, like them, have felt abandoned by the establishment that is sending all our money onto these foreign wars. We need folks who are willing to reinvest that money into our communities, into our babies, making sure that we have universal childcare, free public education from cradle to college.

It bears noting that there is no examination of DSA candidate Darializa Avila-Chevalier (DAC) beyond a carefully curated pair of quotes. There is no examination of her history as an organizer of the violent anti-Israel protests at Columbia University, or of her more radical policy positions. For that matter, there is no examination whatsoever of what the DSA actually stands for, except its opposition both to AIPAC and to the Democrat establishment. No mentions of the things they want to seize and/or abolish. Conversely, there is no mention of the DSA’s use for the Democrat Party as little more than a ballot access vehicle.

The first segment closes out with, you guessed it: Hasan Piker. Coming back from the break, we get O’Sullivan’s first mention of communism: not as the natural end result of the policies publicly espoused by the DSA, but by invocation of the ghost of Joe McCarthy, and the live Donald Trump.

JOE McCARTHY: One communist on the faculty of one university is one communist too many.

O’SULLIVAN: Communism and socialism have long been bad words in American politics, dating back to the McCarthy hearings and the Cold War. America stood for capitalism.

DONALD TRUMP: They use the word Social Democrat because it sounds so nice, but it’s really communism you’re talking about.

O’SULLIVAN: But that is changing.

ANAND GIRIDHARADAS: You understand, I think rightly, this is a social democracy. This is not Gulag socialism. This is not the Soviet Union socialism.

HARRY ENTEN: Socialism, on the other hand, up like a rocket. Look at this. 2 in 3 Democrats have a favorable view of socialism.

O’SULLIVAN: Capitalism is even less popular among young people.

DAVID HOGG: If politicians want to know how to get elected, it is not complicated. Do your job and represent the people. Not the special interests buying out our elections.

What I think a lot about is the fact that if we do not start making our political system work for people that feel like they are living in a broken promise where they’ve done as a generation everything we’ve been told on average, right? We’ve gone to college at some of the highest rates of anybody, of any generation in American history. Contrary to popular belief, we’ve actually voted at the highest rates of any generational cohort at our age in American history. Consistently.

There is a fascinating juxtaposition here between the McCarthy quote, the recent palatability of socialism among the younger set and the Hogg line about his generation going to college at the high rate. The institutional rot in our academic institutions has proven McCarthy right!

In a disgusting aside, O’Sullivan lumps the shooting of President Trump and the assassination of Charlie Kirk along with the assassination of the United Health CEO- all the purported work of anti-capitalists who lost “belief in the system.”

O’SULLIVAN: Often, when belief in the system collapses, civil unrest and violence follow.

JOHN BERMAN: The CEO of United Health Care was murdered this morning.

The record reflects that the motive for the assassination of Charlie Kirk was overwhelmingly hatred over Kirk’s positions on transgenderism. Someone who purports to combat disinformation should be aware of that.

The first mention of Democrat opposition to the DSA takeover comes in at the 27-minute mark: a sit-down with James Carville.

O’SULLIVAN: Mr. Carville, nice to meet you. I’m Donie O’Sullivan.

One might think all the energy and excitement about a new generation of candidates might be a cause for celebration within the Democratic Party.

JAMES CARVILLE, WIELDING A BEIGNET: This is what I call a sign of advanced civilization.

O’SULLIVAN: But not for party veteran James Carville. How are you feeling about the midterms?

CARVILLE: I feel very good. The only thing that can derail us, we could nominate some of the wrong candidates in the wrong place and not be as successful as, I hope.

O’SULLIVAN: The wrong candidates. What do you mean by that?

CARVILLE: All right, let’s take in Michigan. And El-Sayed is highly competent, but he’s way left. I see challenges from the quote, “progressive left,” unquote, and these people are too hard headed to know that they’re not popular. People don’t like them. And, but if you get a skewed turnout in a primary, you might end up losing a race that you should have never lost in the first place.

O’SULLIVAN: When you say “progressive left,” you sort of- there’s a tone of contempt there.

CARVILLE: Yeah. Yeah. So you were very wise. I hope the camera was able to pick up the contempt.

O’SULLIVAN: This is high definition. Yes.

CARVILLE: They don’t win elections. They never run against Republicans. They just run against other Democrats. And their only message is, “we’re going to blow everything up.”

After some more Democrat dissent over antisemitism concerns and several additional doses of Piker, O’Sullivan balances things out by highlighting Cori Bush’s attempted comeback, and with David Hogg depicting AIPAC support as a moral evil comparable to that of the NRA.

After a chat with the Pod Save Obama bros who talk themselves into submitting to the DSA takeover, the doc closes out. Viewers get an upbeat depiction of the DSA candidates and a quick rundown of the issues- particularly Israel. The dissenters get a closing argument but the last word belongs to: you guessed it, Hasan Piker, predicting that the 2028 Democrat nominee will not be “pro-Israel in any way.”

O’SULLIVAN: Will you endorse the 2028 candidates if they are pro-Israel in a way that you don’t like? If you ultimately are about defeating fascism in this country as you describe it surely. Shouldn’t you get on board with whoever the main candidate is?

PIKER: Luckily, I don’t think I’ll have to make that calculation at all, because there is 0% chance that whoever the elected Democrat is that wins the primary will be pro-Israel in any way, shape or form. You’ll see.

This documentary was not so much an exposition of the threat faced by the Democratic Party as it was a call to submission. There is no other purpose this slop could possibly serve given O’Sullivan’s treatment of the subject matter, the individuals he chose to elevate, its timing ahead of the critical Michigan primary and the lack of coverage devoted to what the DSA actually stands for.

In America, the left has determined that mandating ID for voting in federal elections is, in fact, racist. This is why it is bizarre, hypocritical, and illogical, based on leftist standards, that NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani will be requiring ID to obtain goods at his future municipal grocery stores.

The double standards sure are doubling, aren’t they?

According to Mamdani, this is not a program for “people to make a quick buck through reselling.” It is for New Yorkers “to put people’s food on the table.” While they tried to downplay this by claiming a library card may suffice, they know exactly how asinine it is for them to demand you are who you say you are, as they imply people do not follow the rules, but could not care less about those standards at the ballot box. To call this a threat to Democracy would be an understatement.

Per The Post Millennial:

Mamdani’s DSA and Democrat elected leaders at large have opposed voter ID or even ensuring citizenship before voting. A majority of Americans support voter ID and citizenship-only voting with verification. The DSA endorsed DSA-member Mamdani ahead of his election, and claims, “Our candidates for office stand firm against racist voter ID laws and secret poll taxes like the ‘SAVE America Act.'”

Democratic Representative Josh Gottheimer has warned that members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are attempting to transform the Democratic Party into a vehicle for socialist and communist ideology, saying they “are not Democrats” and should form their own political party.

“I’m a very proud, common-sense Democrat, and I don’t think DSA members are Democrats. They’re socialists,” Gottheimer told Fox. “I’m all for them having their own party if they want one, but if they’re trying to take over our party, that’s unacceptable to me… They’re trying to use the Democratic Party as a vessel for their ideas. As you heard in some of these conventions, literally, they’re supporting the Communist Manifesto and Trotsky. They’re anti-American, they’re anti-cop, they don’t believe in borders.”

Perhaps above all else, Donald Trump is a child of the cold war.

Three months before the US president was born, Winston Churchill delivered a historic speech in Fulton, Missouri, that ushered in a generations-long existential struggle between western capitalism and Soviet communism.

Lamenting the spread of Soviet communism across eastern Europe following the allied victory in the second world war, Churchill – by then no longer British prime minister – warned his audience on 5 March 1946 that “an iron curtain has descended across the continent”.

It was the prelude to a nuclear-armed standoff between Washington and Moscow that triggered a hysteria-driven “red scare” in the US – leading to the execution of convicted spies and exemplified by witch-hunts instigated by the Republican senator Joe McCarthy, who claimed he had obtained lists of communist agents working in the state department and other key areas of American life.

The hunt for communists would have been a ubiquitous theme of Trump’s early childhood.

Chicago is expected to lose at least seven grocery stores. This news comes after the city spent nearly $14 million to keep them there.

This was also announced just one day after the mayor claimed he grew the city economically more than any other mayor before him. Something is not adding up here.

The evidence proves otherwise.

Per Fox 11:

City officials are looking for ways to save them, but the deadline is just days away and it looks like those seven stores will close Saturday.

Let’s hope they keep this solution under $14 million.

The Save A Lot company said in a statement that dramatic cuts to SNAP benefits severely impacted these stores. The franchise owner, Yellow Banana, had other financial troubles and then suddenly, the CEO of the company died of a stroke.

A spokesperson for the company said the following:

“Unfortunately, these stores have continued to face significant challenges, including dramatic cuts to SNAP benefits which have severely impacted these stores. Compared to last year, the stores have experienced a 26% decline in SNAP/EBT tender types,” the spokesperson said.

Releasing prisoners back onto the street does nothing to protect the public. This is why it is bizarre and evil, to say the very least, that the DSA continues to fight for the release of people who have been convicted of a crime.

According to NYC DSA Co-Chair Grace Mausser, the United States has far too many prisoners, especially compared to the rest of the world. She implies this somehow proves those people don’t deserve to be in prison, despite everyone being innocent until proven guilty. Rather than prove the current system is evil, and thus everyone should be exonerated of their crimes, she thinks throwing out random data points somehow makes her point, which is extremely lacking.

If the best argument you have is quoting Bernie Sanders, you have no point whatsoever. In fact, she has proven herself to be nothing more than a parrot for the far-left, while showing the world how naive she truly is.

Mausser believes we have an over-incarceration problem. She added that, “The radical thing is not the idea that we should decrease our incarcerated population.” The problem with that statement is that this is the most radical point in the history of opinions. Abolishing prisons, which is essentially what these people want, is solely intended to destroy and cause destruction. People like Mausser fool no one with their cherry-picking of random numbers, as if that somehow proves those people ought not to be in prison.

Liberal polling analyst Nate Silver has crunched the numbers and believes he has found a distinct demographic that becomes attracted to the ideas of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). You may be unsurprised to learn that higher education plays a key role.

According to Silver, the DSA attracts people who are highly educated, yet lack upward mobility. They feel they are owed success because of their credentials. This makes perfect sense, and Silver is not the first person to reach this conclusion.

Silver writes at Substack:

The DSA occupies the high-education, lower-income corner of the electorate

As a result of contentious Democratic primaries in Michigan, Maine, and New York, I’ve been reading a lot of conversation about the role that class plays in voting patterns in the United States. In these primaries, candidates like Graham Platner and Abdul El-Sayed who are associated with democratic socialism often claim to have the mandate of the working class. But in practice, their strengths tend to be with college-educated voters. Even before his scandals, Platner wasn’t particularly doing better among voters without college degrees than previous (losing) Democratic nominees in Maine. El-Sayed has relatively weak support from Black voters in polls, meanwhile…

I’m reminded here of Peter Turchin’s elite overproduction hypothesis. It basically argues that America is producing “too many” college graduates relative to the number of high-prestige, well-paying jobs available to them. People who wind up in this situation often carry heavy student loan burdens or other sorts of debt. Even if their material situation is objectively “just fine,” it’s rarely great. They’re gloomy about their own financial prospects, and feel aggrieved about the state of the country. Their class status is ambiguous: privileged in some senses, but they’re part of the “have-nots” in other meaningful ways.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) dropped a new paid digital ad today targeting Amish Shah, the radical socialist who just won the primary in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, a key battleground for control of the House. The ad highlights Shah’s ties to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), including backing Bernie Sanders for president at a DSA event in 2019. He also heaped praise on AOC and other members of the extreme left-wing Squad, praising their progressive movement in the Democratic Party while calling our economic system unfair

Shah ran for Congress in 2024, where he underperformed both Kamala Harris and Ruben Gallego, and now he’s decided that his best move is to run even farther to the left than he did two years ago. Shah himself admitted it back in May, saying, “I’m not hesitating one bit to use, you know, my platform to be able to prosecute as vigorously as I can sometimes with, you know, expletives and whatever it takes” because President Trump is “horrible.”

The NRCC’s ad highlights Shah’s extremism and the danger he poses to Arizona families.

“Socialist Amish Shah,” the ad says. “He’s with AOC, Ilhan Omar … The Squad. Amish Shah would raise taxes by $4,000 per year on every family, and give sanctuary to criminal illegal aliens. Shah voted against border security funding, against police funding, and against requiring child sex offenders to register online. Shah even voted for early release for dangerous criminals. Socialist Amish Shah: too extreme, too dangerous for us.”

Shah has an uphill battle within his own party, as Democrat leadership grapples with what to do to address the insurgence of socialists. Will the Democrats back Shah financially? The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and its allies spent $4.5 million in an effort to defeat Shah, and Shah spent the primary night begging the DCCC for support, going so far as to joke that he hopes to get their endorsement over his Republican opponent, Jay Feely.

As Breitbart reported:

He added, “I just want to say that there was a shockwave through this party when Mamdani, who everybody’s excited about, stabbed in the back, Espaillat, who…was the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, beloved by everybody, who backed Mamdani. Mamdani said, I will back you. Then he turns around, stabs him in the back. And backed Chevalier, who has no credentials, except she’s known for having celebrated October 7 murders of Israelis on October 8, and never apologized. This sent a shockwave through the party. People said, hold on a second, why, of all the people in New York City, would Mamdani pick this person to betray someone? And then no one says anything. Everybody’s quiet.”

Scarborough Urges Democrats to Welcome Socialist Wing Ahead of Midterms www.newsbusters.org

The Democratic Party has found itself in the midst of an internal rift just as the midterms are looming. Between revolutionary democratic socialists and establishment liberals, even the media has struggled to pick sides in the battle for the heart of the party. MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough, however, seems to have settled on a choice. On Monday’s Morning Joe, he urged the establishment to let the socialists waltz right on in.

Beginning the segment, Scarborough couldn’t seem to understand why party officials might not want to let socialists and communists into their party. Why can’t we all just get along?

I don’t understand it: this is a time Democrats should be coming together, and yet, every opinion piece I see, every social media post, it’s like about a division in the Democratic party that doesn’t even have to be.

Scarborough’s response to the party divide? Just welcome the socialists with open arms! And pretend they are the ones who will convert to the establishment.

I will say, as a former Republican, now an independent, who is for pro-democracy forces, my attitude has always been, we’re Baptists. We will play 16 hymns of ‘Just as I Am’, if that’s what it takes to bring new converts down. We will wait. And when those new converts come in, we hug them.

President Donald Trump said Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “will not be arrested” when he visits New York in September, pushing back on a suggestion by Mayor Zohran Mamdani that such an arrest could happen.

Mamdani has said New York City’s legal department is discussing the possibility of arresting Netanyahu when the prime minister is in the city to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

“I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague,” Mamdani told The New York Times’ “The Interview” podcast that published Saturday.

“He’s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court. And what you will find is that is an opinion that is held by many purely because of what his actions have wrought over these last many years,” the mayor said.

The active compromise that has held the American far left together over these past few years is quite simple: No matter how contradictory the identities of the most ardent proponents may be, as long as your animating motive is undermining America and its history, you’re in.

The desperately poor and the obscenely wealthy. Self-flagellating college kids and urban activists. Foaming-at-the-mouth atheists and devout Muslims. The contradictions are clear, but as long as there’s an enemy to focus on, those can be put aside.

However, Melissa Chaudhry could be the point where those weak bonds finally snap in a meaningful way.

Chaudhry is attempting to unseat Rep. Adam Smith in the Democratic primary for Washington’s 9th Congressional District, based in and around Seattle. While Smith is a reliably liberal vote and has been since he entered Congress in 1997, he’s not really a leftist, per se, which makes him fair game in the 2026 cycle.

Dems Went ‘Quiet’ After Mamdani Betrayed One of His Backers for Someone Who Celebrated October 7 www.breitbart.com

On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” CNN Senior Political Commentator Van Jones said that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) “stabbed in the back” outgoing Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) for “Chevalier, who has no credentials, except she’s known for having celebrated October 7 murders of Israelis on October 8, and never apologized. … And then no one says anything. Everybody’s quiet.”

Jones said, “I am happy that the young people are fighting for affordability, Medicare for all, all the good things. I’ve been waiting my whole life to see a youth movement do what it’s doing. But it’s being hijacked by people who are putting in nutty ideas, supporting terrorists, nutty ideas saying we don’t need cops and prisons, we can’t deport anybody, even if they rape somebody. Who said this? Chevalier.”

He added, “I just want to say that there was a shockwave through this party when Mamdani, who everybody’s excited about, stabbed in the back, Espaillat, who…was the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, beloved by everybody, who backed Mamdani. EXCERPT:

Colorado socialist congressional candidate Melat Kiros called for more migrants and people with “heritage in the global south” to seek elected office to push back against the “exploitative” nature of the American people.

Kiros is arguing that the United States plays an “exploitative and extractive” role in the world.

The Democratic Socialists of America-backed candidate made the remarks during the Wa’Ela Tigrai event in Denver last weekend.

During the event, she discussed her congressional campaign after defeating longtime incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) in last month’s Democrat primary.

Kiros said changing the international order would require electing officials who understand what she described as American exploitation on a “fundamental level.”

Kiros Calls for Shift in ‘Global World Order’

Kiros pointed to the rise of House progressives such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) while discussing the importance of helping other like-minded candidates enter government.

“There’s a certain reckoning that we are going to have to have with the global world order as it exists today and the way that it fundamentally will have to shift going forward,” Kiros said.

“The responsibility that we have as Americans, the recognition that is going to be required of us, of the exploitative and extractive nature that we play on the global scale and the global stage is only going to be challenged if we are getting represented by people who understand that on a fundamental level.”

Kiros then argued that more immigrants and people with ties to developing nations must win elected office.

“And that means getting more immigrants into office,” she said.

“That means getting more people who have heritage in the global south into office because that’s where those decisions are made specifically.”

Kiros was among several candidates endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America who defeated incumbent Democrats during the 2026 primary cycle.

Candidate Says Legal System Works ‘Exactly as It Was Designed To’

Kiros also discussed how her experience attending law school shaped her view of the American legal and economic systems.

“When I was in law school, I tell everybody that was where I learned that the system is not broken, that it’s actually working exactly as it was designed to,” Kiros said.

“And that really kind of broke my spirit a little bit and made me believe there’s really nothing to be done, which is why I went to a big law firm in the first place and just wanted to retire and take care of my parents and call it a day.”

“But that’s no way to live, right?” she continued.

“At the end of the day, the spirit of our people, the spirit of our community and our culture is to fight and to never give up.”

Kiros said she intends to continue pushing her political agenda regardless of the outcome of the general election.

“Regardless of what ends up happening, regardless of what happens with my own candidacy and this general and then what this potential, you know, office could look like with me in it,” she said.

“I would rather go down fighting than to give up.”

However, the Democrat candidate is expected to win the general election in the reliably blue district.

Kiros Was Fired from Major Law Firm

Kiros previously worked at the prominent law firm Sidley Austin.

The firm fired her in 2023 after she published an open letter criticizing law firms, including Sidley Austin, that had called for action against antisemitism on college campuses.

Her victory over DeGette and her comments in Denver reflect the growing influence of the Democratic Party’s socialist wing.

The DSA is increasingly challenging longtime incumbents while calling for sweeping changes to American institutions and the country’s role abroad.

Democrat Civil War Erupts as Warren and Schumer Back Rival Michigan Senate Candidates slaynews.com
News Source

EXCERPT:

A growing Democratic Party power struggle is spilling into the open as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) back opposing candidates in Michigan’s closely watched Senate primary.

Warren endorsed far-left Abdul El-Sayed on Monday in the race to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), placing herself directly against Schumer, who is supporting Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI).

The competing endorsements expose the widening divide between the Democrat establishment and the party’s progressive wing, which is attempting to expand its influence in Congress.

Warren Joins Progressive Push for El-Sayed

Warren announced her endorsement just hours after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appeared with El-Sayed at a campaign event.

In a video announcing her support, Warren praised El-Sayed for rejecting corporate campaign contributions.

“The only candidate in this race not taking corporate money, and he’s fighting to get money out of politics altogether,” Warren said.

“And make no mistake,” she continued.

“Abdul is the only candidate in this race who can build the grassroots movement needed to win in November.

“More money in your pocket, to get money out of politics and deliver ‘Medicare-for-all.’

“Michigan, let’s get this done.”

The endorsement marks a shift for Warren, who had previously supported Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow before she withdrew from the race earlier this month.

McMorrow opposed “Medicare-for-all,” a policy Warren has championed for years.

El-Sayed has faced scrutiny over previous social media posts, including calls to “defund the police” by redirecting taxpayer money away from purchasing “war materiel to wage war in our streets.”

Schumer Backs Establishment Candidate

Schumer waited until the Democrat field narrowed before publicly endorsing Stevens, though he had reportedly supported her privately during the crowded primary.

“I think she has the best chance to win,” Schumer told Punchbowl News last month.

Stevens has also received endorsements from Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE), and Peters.

El-Sayed’s supporters include Warren, Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).

Neither Stevens nor El-Sayed has committed to backing Schumer as Democratic leader in the next Congress.

El-Sayed has also said he has not spoken with Schumer during the campaign.

El-Sayed Targets Democratic Establishment

El-Sayed has openly framed his campaign as a direct challenge to the Democratic Party’s existing leadership and fundraising structure.

He told Politico that Schumer and other party leaders oppose his effort to remove corporate money from politics because Schumer’s “whole approach is that you get to go talk to the money people and then dole out their corporate money to help elect the people who are going to do the things that corporations want.”

“So, of course, they’re freaking out,” El-Sayed said.

“They’re not freaking out because they think I’m going to lose.

“They’re freaking out because they think I’m going to win.”

The Michigan contest is not the first Senate race to expose divisions between Warren and Schumer.

Warren previously backed former Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner, while Schumer worked behind the scenes to recruit Maine Gov. Janet Mills into that race.

The Michigan primary now represents another major test of whether the Democrat establishment can maintain control over the party’s nominees or whether its increasingly organized progressive wing can displace candidates favored by longtime leaders.
