Toronto police are investigating after two locations of Jewish-owned Kiva’s bagel bar were targeted in separate incidents Sunday morning, including one where a window was struck by gunfire.
In multiple posts to social media, police say officers were first called to the Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue West area at around 8 a.m. after reports that a window at a Jewish-owned bakery had been struck by gunfire.
Investigators located evidence of a firearm discharge at the scene. However, no injuries were reported.
Roughly 20 minutes later, officers responded to another location of the “same Jewish owned bakery chain” near Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West after receiving reports of a broken window.

Theis, a devout Christian, used to work as an education specialist for InterMountain Education Service District, which required him to travel to different district schools to administer standardized tests to students. He was not a teacher and rarely had contact with most students but did have office space in two of the districts’ schools.
Many InterMountain district staff, including teachers, are allowed to decorate their classrooms and offices with various posters, flags, and books that promote Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ messages, pride flags, political candidates, views on political and social topics, and more. While still employed there, Theis followed their lead by displaying three children’s books — Johnny the Walrus, He is He, and She is She — in his offices. A growing Democratic Party power struggle is spilling into the open as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) back opposing candidates in Michigan’s closely watched Senate primary.
Warren endorsed far-left Abdul El-Sayed on Monday in the race to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), placing herself directly against Schumer, who is supporting Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI).
The competing endorsements expose the widening divide between the Democrat establishment and the party’s progressive wing, which is attempting to expand its influence in Congress.

Cain, who pleaded guilty to making threats against Mace, issued the following May 2025 since-deleted social media post: “I’M GOING TO ASSASSINATE REPRESENTATIVE NANCY MACE WITH A GUN AND I’M BEING 100% DEAD A**,” an arrest warrant states
The sentence also issued a permanent restraining order to protect Mace. While in prison, Cain had also reportedly expressed a desire to kill the congresswoman if given the opportunity while speaking to a “jailhouse informant,” according to Mace’s victim impact statement. The comments were allegedly made while discussing the September 2025 assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
