870,000 Fraudsters Guilty of Stealing $50 Billion in Fraudulent Pandemic Loans– gellerreport.com

EXCERPT:

If you felt the government was just shoveling out money—and the system was ripe for fraud, your intuition was right. It was worse than many of us thought. Washington Times: Vice President J.D. Vance announced Monday that the government is barring 870,000 people from getting future federal loans because they are suspected of defrauding the government during the pandemic. They accounted for nearly $50 billion in bogus small business loans, officials said. Letters will be mailed out starting this week notifying them they’re banned. “If you screwed the American taxpayer, the federal government is now going to say you’re cut off,” Mr. Vance said at an appearance in Kansas City, flanked by Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel and Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler….  Mr. Vance, who was tapped to lead President Trump’s task force on combating fraud, also called upon Democrats to join the fraud fight. “Congressional Democrats have been so captured by far-left advocacy groups that they can’t even participate in something as common sense as protecting the American taxpayer’s money,” he said. “We can’t allow it to be normalized that the American people get stolen from by fraudsters.” (Washington Times).

The SBA announced suspensions for 870,000 PPP and COVID EIDL borrowers tied to $39 billion in suspected fraud, in our biggest fraud action to date.

NEW: House Republicans Map Out Filibuster Bypass for President Trump’s SAVE America Act– wltreport.com

House Republicans may have found their best path yet to get President Trump’s election-integrity agenda through the Senate.

Instead of waiting for Democrats to supply the votes needed to break a filibuster, GOP leaders are preparing to use budget reconciliation to move the core of the SAVE America Act with a simple majority.

The target is straightforward: require proof of citizenship when Americans register to vote and establish a nationwide photo-ID standard for federal elections.

Current reporting lays out the plan and the tight timetable facing Republicans before the November midterms:

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil is overseeing the election provisions. He says conversations are underway with the Trump administration and Senate Republicans about writing them into a reconciliation package.

Fox News Digital reports that Steil wants to include the SAVE America Act’s two biggest mandates: documentary proof of citizenship during voter registration and photo identification when casting a federal ballot.

America, I regret to inform you that the Clancy jurors are still talking.

One juror in particular is continuing to do massive damage to the credibility of the 11-1 decision that resulted in a mistrial. Nine “angry women” and two beta-males were unwilling to convict Clancy, and it increasingly looks like they had an axe to grind.

The lone holdout juror — a black man effectively doxxed in a smear campaign — was ultimately able to hold true to his convictions despite what looks like an agenda-driven environment.

The picture these women are painting with their needless comments is that they were belligerently pushing a narrative to get the lone holdout to cave and acquit an accused murderer.

That poor man. He should never have to buy his own drink in America again.

According to an outspoken juror, Paula Devlin, the jury saw the Clancy case as a chance to promote a “feminist” cause.

GOP Gov. Candidate Forced to Swim for His Life After Plane Crash– www.westernjournal.com

People who get paid to work with words should probably know how to use them.

But a Wisconsin journalist reporting on a near-fatal crash involving a Republican candidate for governor proved just how bad things can go wrong when her social media posts about the incident turned into a story that caught more eyes than the crash itself probably would have — and roasted her in the process.

And she has herself and her profession to blame.

First the facts: U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, a conservative Republican,  a GOP congressman since 2020 since 2020 and now his party’s nominee for governor, was aboard a private plane that was forced to make an emergency landing about 9 p.m. Saturday in Lake Wausau, about 100 miles east of Green Bay, according to CBS News.

Tiffany and the pilot were the only two on board the plane. They managed to swim to a shallow point in the lake, where they were able to stand until a boat picked them up, the network reported.

Both men needed stitches from cuts incurred during the crash, but were otherwise fine, according to CBS.

So far so good: A story that could have been a tragedy — a plane crash and a double drowning — turned out to have a happy ending.

EXCERPT:

Former CIA Director John Brennan has been ordered to testify before a federal grand jury in Florida as the Justice Department expands an investigation into the government’s handling of investigations involving President Donald Trump.

A subpoena requires Brennan to appear Oct. 15 before a grand jury in Fort Pierce, according to a court filing disclosed by his attorney. The Justice Department is examining allegations that intelligence and law enforcement officials improperly targeted Trump during investigations involving Russian interference in the 2016 election and other matters.

Brennan has denied wrongdoing and accused the Justice Department of pursuing him for political reasons. His attorneys are seeking preservation of government records connected to the investigation.

The subpoena was signed Sept. 9 by former Justice Department prosecutor Joe diGenova, who resigned from the investigation the following day.

DiGenova subsequently said investigators have evidence supporting potential prosecutions but cautioned against moving cases too quickly.

“There’s plenty of evidence in all of these cases to prove the theories of prosecution,” diGenova said, according to The Associated Press. “It just takes time to get there, and some people want to get there a little faster than others, and you can’t do that.”

EPA Sets Stage For Court Fight After Taking Buzzsaw To Biden-Era Climate Rule– dailycaller.com

EXCERPT:

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) repealed greenhouse gas regulations for coal- and natural gas-fired power plants Monday, setting up another likely legal fight over the federal government’s authority to regulate the power sector under the Clean Air Act.

The rollback would eliminate more than $300 billion in costs for the energy industry and allow utilities to make decisions based on the needs of their ratepayers rather than potentially shuttering aging power plants, according to the EPA. The repeal reverses Biden-era regulations requiring existing coal plants and certain new natural gas plants to capture 90% of their carbon emissions by 2032 if they planned to continue operating past 2039.

“America should be producing more affordable, reliable energy, not forcing power plants and taxpayers to spend billions capturing and burying CO₂,” Jason Isaac, founder and CEO of the American Energy Institute, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

RIO DE JANEIRO — Brazil’s Supreme Court is in the throes of an unprecedented crisis. Sessions are being canceled. Justices are overruling one another’s decisions. And suspicions of graft, political bias and police interference loom over several of its members ahead of the country’s presidential election in October.

The justices at the heart of the crisis are perceived as being at opposing ends of Brazil’s polarized political spectrum. Next month, incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is expected to face off with Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, in what is likely to be a close election, as it was four years ago.

The court is set to meet Tuesday to discuss whether one of the justices should be investigated for corruption.

Here’s what to know.

The chaos gripping the court stems from the collapse of Banco Master, a mid-sized bank worth up to $16 billion in assets, which was shut down last November after a sprawling investigation into a fraud scheme involving billions of reais. Several top politicians and members of the judiciary were linked to it.

Sometimes things just don’t make sense. Especially when someone like Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is concerned.

She’s been a controversial figure in the past, especially when it came to her “Somalia first” statements that she’s made – something that doesn’t reflect well on someone of her stature. But it’s her most recent case surrounding a mysterious increase in funds that I feel needs a bit more attention – especially considering the result.

See, there was a financial disclosure with Omar’s personal records a while back, indicating that her and her husband’s assets were between $6 million and $30 million. That’s a far cry from the salary of $174,000 that she makes with her current position.

Many believed that she was taking advantage of local Minnesota businesses with this – myself included. After all, a huge increase in cash like that doesn’t just appear magically. So, yes, I fully supported the investigation into the case, because we deserve answers.

But apparently the Office of Congressional Conduct felt that there was no wrongdoing. Last month, it noted that any misconduct charges against Omar were cleared. “From day one, we have been clear: the Congresswoman is not a millionaire.” This is in spite of the statistics that previously told us otherwise.

And the reason for the mistake? Get this. Her husband’s accountant reportedly listed gross business values for firms such as Rose Lake Capital without subtracting liabilities.

Michigan Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed led a college protest against three self-described former terrorists who spoke about abandoning Islamic extremism and converting to Christianity, according to a resurfaced report from his time at the University of Michigan.

El-Sayed, who is running against Republican former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) in Michigan’s closely watched Senate race, was vice president of the university’s Muslim Students Association (MSA) when the organization protested the 2007 appearance of Walid Shoebat, Zachariah Annani, and Kamal Saleem.

The three men described themselves as former terrorists with backgrounds involving the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Muslim Brotherhood before converting to Christianity.

Students staged a walkout during their appearance, and El-Sayed celebrated the protest afterward.

“We’ve done something good today, and we need to keep that going in the future,” El-Sayed said.

EXCERPT:

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and New York Attorney General Letitia James are suing President Donald Trump’s administration over its effort to expand federal authority to deny visas and green cards to immigrants who are likely to rely on taxpayer-funded public benefits.

The lawsuit targets the Trump administration’s expansion of the “public charge” rule, which allows immigration officials to consider whether an applicant is likely to depend on government assistance when deciding whether to approve a visa or permanent residency application.

The administration is seeking to broaden the benefits considered under the rule, with the changes scheduled to take effect September 18.

Mamdani argued Monday that the policy would intimidate immigrants into abandoning government benefits.

“If you are a citizen, or an individual seeking humanitarian relief like asylum, these changes will not affect you,” Mamdani said during a press conference.

“The new public charge rule not only sweeps aside more than a century of established law, it is intentionally vague as a means of creating uncertainty and fear to isolate immigrant New Yorkers.

Nearly 40 universities maintain neo-segregated housing despite HUD demand to end practice– www.thecollegefix.com

EXCERPT:

Nearly 40 universities across the nation this year continue to offer neo-segregated dorms and housing opportunities despite a recent demand from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to end race-based discriminatory residential programs.

Research by The College Fix found 39 universities this fall semester operate “affinity housing” or “living-learning communities” geared toward students of a particular race or ethnicity.

Proponents argue such arrangements improve retention rates, foster peer mentorship, and support academic integration for historically underrepresented groups. However, these offerings have been deemed a euphemism for discrimination by the Trump administration. Another term used to describe such arrangements is “neo-segregation.”

Fix research identified 39 universities with one or more such residential programs, but because many universities operate multiple communities, the total number of individual segregated housing programs is substantially higher, coming in at 74.

Of the 39 universities, at least 28 offer housing geared toward black or African students, 17 toward Hispanic or Latino students, 10 toward Native American or Indigenous students, and nine toward Asian students. Several universities offer multiple affinity housing programs.

“I am not surprised that neo-segregated housing persists in American colleges and universities,” said Peter Wood, president of the National Association of Scholars, in an email interview with The College Fix.

Bush, planned to cross party lines in the Texas Railroad Commission race and vote for Democrat Jon Rosenthal over the Republican nominee, Bo French.

Rove, wrote Trump, is a RINO and “a stone cold loser” who has suffered from Trump Derangement Syndrome for the past decade. Furthermore, declared the president, Rove is “bad for the Republican Party” after being “completely wrong so often.”

Karl Rove is so bad for the Republican Party, and completely wrong so often. CA Cops Are Using Flock Cameras To Spy On A Small WI Village– thefederalist.com

EXCERPT:

Elm Grove is a quiet village of about 6,500 in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, 15 minutes from downtown Milwaukee. Like many municipalities, officials in Elm Grove recently caught Flock fever, installing six cameras that constantly surveil the village’s main streets.

Flock Group, Inc. is a tech company that has sold more than 120,000 cameras to governments, schools, hospitals, shopping malls, and neighborhood associations. Marketed as ALPRs — automated license plate readers — they capture far more than plates: passing vehicles, pedestrians, backyards, and sometimes even the inside of vehicles.

Flock uploads the images and videos from its nationwide network of cameras into a massive location-history database. Flock’s AI tools create a “vehicle fingerprint” for each vehicle — every scratch, dent, bumper sticker, trailer, roof rack, or other noticeable feature is logged. Flock can document where you’ve been in the past month, where you are today, and even predict where you’re going in the future and who you’ll travel with. As with most emerging AI tech, the sky’s the limit.

What’s notable about Elm Grove’s six cameras is not that they exist, but that the cameras are searched more than a million times most months. But Elm Grove officers aren’t doing the bulk of that searching. Audit logs obtained through public records requests by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty show that Elm Grove’s officers only search their own cameras a few dozen times a month for minor local crimes, like traffic infractions.

Huang put the call on speaker. The president then delivered a blunt message to a room packed with technology leaders: America cannot let fear, red tape, or a wave of AI doomsday predictions hand the future to China.

The full exchange shows Trump joking with Huang before driving straight into the fight over AI, data centers, and American leadership:

Trump said the idea that robots are about to take over the world has been turned into a political and economic “hoax.” He argued that the people pushing America to slow down are giving Beijing exactly the opening it wants.

“The happiest group is China,” Trump told the room. He warned that American companies are already looking abroad when permitting and infrastructure obstacles make major projects harder to build here at home.

I spent eight years on a school board watching the teachers’ union abandon pay and working conditions for social justice campaigns, grim reaper theatrics, and the claim that biology is optional.

The National Education Association (NEA) is America’s largest teachers’ union, and it holds a rare federal charter issued in 1906. Its mission has changed. Rather than advocating for better working conditions and pay for teachers, it’s focused on gathering activists to further its social justice causes. Should its charter be revoked? My answer is an emphatic YES!

Teachers’ unions don’t care that American children continue to fall behind in reading and math. Instead, they’re focused on abortion rights, protecting sexually explicit materials in schools, and pushing social justice activism. They align themselves with Godless Marxist groups like the Zinn Education Project, which pushes its sacred religion of self-actualization and vilifies capitalism.

As a former elected school board member, I watched the union’s strategy up close. Its priority is electing its chosen candidates so it can control elected officials and advance its far-left extremist political agendas. On Election Day, it passes out literature for its favored candidates, falsely claiming, “this is who the teachers want.” In my district, less than nine percent of school employees are union members, according to tax filings.

They Now Call Population Control “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights”– www.lifenews.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

The term “sexual and reproductive health and rights,” or SRHR, did not appear out of nowhere. It grew out of a political problem.

For years, the United Nations and Western governments spoke openly about “population control.” But that language generated resistance, particularly from developing countries that had every reason to distrust wealthy nations telling poorer nations that they had too many children. Worse, population programs in the 1970s and 1980s became associated with coercive practices, including forced or pressured contraception and sterilization. Even UNFPA now acknowledges that the move away from population targets came partly in response to abuses connected with population-control policies.

So the vocabulary changed.

Instead of controlling populations, the UN increasingly spoke about “reproductive health,” “reproductive rights,” and eventually “sexual and reproductive health and rights.” The language sounded softer. More personal. More rooted in health and individual rights.

One of the central figures in that transformation was Nafis Sadik, the longtime executive director of the United Nations Population Fund and Secretary-General of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo. Sadik aggressively promoted the reproductive-rights framework that came to dominate UN population policy. Cairo became the turning point.

The 1994 conference did not simply update population policy. It changed its vocabulary and architecture. UNFPA itself says Cairo “introduced the concepts of sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights” and advanced a new definition of population policy centered on reproductive health and women’s empowerment.

The only attack Republicans have on El-Sayed is being interviewed by Piker, and they know the media is only too willing to promote their memes.

JIANG: Well, there are Jewish voters in your state who are concerned about your relationship with Piker. You have condemned anti-Semitism, but not called out his rhetoric directly. Why not?

El-Sayed: Weijia, with all due respect, this is the third time you’ve asked about a Twitch streamer in California.

I’ve done four events in Michigan this week. You know what didn’t come up? Twitch streamers in California.

You know what did come up? Grocery prices. The fact that people can’t see a doctor. The worry that they have about the quality of air and water.

I’m not interested in having a conversation about streamers in California because they are not raising the prices of gas and groceries.

I’m more interested in having a conversation about tariff policies and trade wars we shouldn’t be fighting.

About hot wars with Iran.

About AI, which I know we were supposed to talk about right now.

So let’s actually talk about the issues that are affecting people instead of getting distracted by whatever the president says we should be talking about.

Their whole game is to make us fight culture war so that we don’t pay attention to the fact that the president has made $2.2 billion.

His family has made even more. How about your family in Michigan? How about your ability to afford the basic things?

How about the ability to believe that you could see a doctor without having to potentially fall into medical debt?

Those are the conversations that people are having. Those are the conversations I want to have.

So yeah, I’m not all that interested in having a conversation about a Twitch streamer, forgive me, when people can’t afford their gas and their groceries.

Data Centers Are About To Burn More US Natural Gas Than Almost Every Country On Earth– dailycaller.com

EXCERPT:

American data centers are on track to consume more natural gas than nearly every country in the world within the next decade as the artificial intelligence boom drives electricity demand higher, according to a new BloombergNEF outlook.

Natural gas consumption used to generate electricity for U.S. data centers is projected to increase by 15 billion cubic feet per day through 2035, according to BloombergNEF. The projection accounts for the possibility that many data center projects currently planned across the country will never be built.

“In short, the resource base and producer response are sufficient, but the mix would shift toward higher-cost dry-gas drilling, supporting moderately higher gas and electricity prices than a high-oil-price, high-associated-gas world,” Stuart Turley, president and CEO of the Sandstone Group and host of the Energy News Beat podcast, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The additional demand alone would exceed the amount of natural gas currently consumed by every country except China, Russia, Iran and the United States, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration

It’s tempting for us amateur observers of life and history to put events like September 11, 2001, in nice, neat, little boxes. It helps us understand momentous events and deal with the trauma.

The 9/11 mythology that has been nurtured, cared for, and augmented over the last 25 years hardly resembles the raw, searing pain we felt on that day and in the immediate aftermath of the attacks. We have sanitized it, drawn the emotion from it as we might draw poison from a snakebite, until what’s left is banal and boring.

The “Falling Man” is still comfortably anonymous. Ultimately, photographer Richard Drew and many historians view “The Falling Man” less as a single named individual and more as an “Unknown Soldier” representing the tragic fate of the thousands of people who died trapped in the towers that morning.

The much-debated (and much-maligned) 9/11 memorial is perhaps the most unsatisfactory manifestation of a national tragedy we have. The winning design, Reflecting Absence, was overly stark, abstract, and somber. No American flags, no religious symbols. Critics called it “hyperindividualized” rather than unifying.

Others found the memorial moving and appropriate. The museum’s historical orientation video and exhibits faced criticism from civil rights organizations and scholars who argued that the terminology used failed to sufficiently differentiate general Islam from extremist violent jihadism. I saw the orientation video, and aside from the narration not outright claiming that “THIS IS NOT ISLAM,” it told the story of the attacks as straightforwardly as possible.
