Droves of Subscribers Cancel Netflix After ‘Neck Injury’ Joke on One-Year Anniversary of Charlie Kirk Assassination– www.breitbart.com

EXCERPT:

Droves of Netflix subscribers are announcing they have canceled their memberships after the streaming giant made a “neck injury” joke on the one-year anniversary of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“Nearly did himself a neck injury,” Netflix’s official UK and Ireland X account quipped in a Thursday caption, sharing a photo of a male character from The Gentlemen apparently straining his neck to get a better view of a woman.

The joke about a man having a “neck injury,” however, was posted on September 10, the one-year anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot in the neck while trying to have an open and respectful dialogue with a student at Utah Valley University.

Viewers were quick to notice the veiled jab, resulting in a slew of social media users taking to the comment section of Netflix UK & Ireland’s post to announce they are canceling their subscriptions.

“Cancel Netflix completely,” Jack Posobiec — conservative commentator and a close friend of Kirk’s — demanded.

“Bye,” one X user commented, sharing a screenshot of an email he recently received form Netflix informing him that his membership had been successfully canceled.

“Hulu it is,” another remarked, also sharing her

“Go to hell. Motherfuckers,” a third X user declared.

The popular conservative X account Libs of TikTok, meanwhile, revealed that her subscription had already been canceled, writing, “I’m so glad I canceled my subscription. You guys are sick.

“Years ago Netflix brought me in to discuss doing Faith based films. At the end of our meeting, the executives looked at me and said ‘we understand that there’s an audience for the kind of movies you make, we just don’t know why.’ These people are sick,” actor Kevin Sorbo disclosed.

“The worst people!” Graham Allen echoed. “No wonder NETFLIX stock has TUMBLED!”

Another X user shared a screenshot showing Netflix’s stock plummeting, writing, “Keep going.”

“You guys are sick, demented bastards, I’ve had enough,” another proclaimed, also sharing his Netflix cancelation email.

Another X user simply asked, “What the fuck is wrong with you people?”

“When your subscription service fails, this post will come back in millions of views to mock you,” another surmised, adding, “Bless you Charlie. I am sorry these people are so cruel.”

“Kind of actually insane for an official Netflix account to post this on the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s death,” another reacted.

A life-size statue of Charlie Kirk was unveiled Thursday afternoon in New York City’s Times Square on the one-year anniversary of his death.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The accused shooter, Tyler Robinson, has pleaded not guilty to charges that include aggravated murder.

“A life-size Charlie Kirk statue will be unveiled Thursday afternoon in New York City’s Times Square. The public will see it at 2:23 pm EST, the exact time Kirk was assassinated during a speaking engagement one year ago today,” Turning Point USA’s Frontlines said of the unveiling. Italian-born New York artist Sergio Furnari, who designed the statute, acknowledged that he would have to get “creative” with the unveiling as far-left extremists had vowed to destroy it.

Some attendees interpreted Tisch’s comments as a dig at Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch called for “moral clarity” ahead of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks as city officials unveiled a new memorial wall at One Police Plaza on Wednesday.

Tisch, alongside Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other city officials, unveiled the wall, which includes 469 names commemorating NYPD police officers who died from illnesses related to Ground Zero. Addressing families of 9/11 first responders, Tisch said that “Preserving that history also means preserving its moral clarity.”

“The men who attacked this city were terrorists. The men and women who ran into the towers to save innocent lives were heroes,” she said. “Twenty-five years cannot be allowed to blur that distinction and shame on those who do.”

According to a report by the New York Post, Tisch’s remarks were taken by some attendees as a dig at Mayor Mamdani. This comes just days after an incident in which Mamdani signed an executive order related to recognizing September 11, then asked Tisch to hand a ceremonial pen to his chief counsel, Ramzi Kassem. Kassem is a civil rights attorney who has previously represented an Al-Qaeda terrorist.

“It definitely sounded like she took a shot at the mayor, especially after the pen incident last week,” an attendee told the outlet.

Mamdani has been facing continued criticism leading up to the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Last month, the Port Authority Retired Police Association sent a letter to the mayor saying he is not welcome at the memorial ceremony.

Vice President JD Vance warned that Democrats have increasingly aligned themselves with radical activists who attack the American way of life, including figures who have declared that America “deserved 9/11.”

Vance issued the warning during Fox News’s coverage of the Republican National Convention in Dallas, arguing that President Donald Trump had successfully drawn a sharp contrast between the GOP agenda and the increasingly radical politics embraced by Democrats.

With the country preparing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Vance pointed specifically to Democrats campaigning alongside figures who have defended or downplayed anti-American rhetoric.

“So, I think what the president tried to do tonight very successfully was really two things,” Vance said.

“First of all, you got to talk about all the amazing things that we did over the last couple of years.

“No taxes on tips, no tax on Social Security, no tax on overtime.

“That stuff all goes away if the Democrats take control.”

As construction advances on New Mexico’s first $10 million forced taxpayer-funded abortion killing center in Las Cruces, NM, the New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMAFL) confirms that pro-abortion administrators at the University of New Mexico (UNM), in partnership with state officials, are targeting Las Vegas, NM as the site for the second state-funded abortion killing center.

The information comes directly from Christopher Arndt, M.D., Interim President and CEO of the UNM Health Sciences Center, during a 2026 University of New Mexico Board of Regents meeting earlier this year.

Discussing the state’s plans for a second facility, Arndt said:

“And we are looking for the best locations to potentially build a like-minded clinic with another $10 million appropriation from a year ago in northern New Mexico. After discussions with the state of New Mexico, it was found that Las Vegas, New Mexico would be the ideal location for that.”

In an effort to find evidence on where the state was planning to build the second state-funded abortion killing center, NMAFL previously submitted several Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) requests. Many of these requests were denied or came up empty, indicating a concerted effort to conceal their plans for as long as possible.

In an unearthed article, Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico revealed that he visited a mosque following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001.

Talarico revealed the news in a profile piece published by Texas Monthly in January of this year, saying that the visit was a “solidarity thing” following growing “vitriol and distrust” of the Muslim community in the United States. Talarico’s mother, who is deeply involved in Democrat politics in Texas and holds a joint bank account with her son, led the trip and brought along Talarico’s sister and two best friends.

Since that fateful trip, Islam has become a centerpiece in Talarico’s faith and political life. In 2021, Talarico filed a bill to allow Imams to perform weddings in the state of Texas. One year later, an Imam was invited to deliver a sermon at Talarico’s notorious St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. The church, which is considered to be extremely politically-active, is credited as the place where he learned to “see politics as a way of loving your neighbor.”

(LifeSiteNews) —Father Dan Reehil, an exorcist in the Diocese of Nashville, criticized during a Sunday homily the numerous women supporters who have rallied behind Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother whose trial for murdering her three young children ended in a mistrial last week.

During a September 6 homily focused on the need for the faithful to call out evil, Fr. Reehil briefly highlighted the insanity of the women who have come out in support of Clancy and encouraged any men dating a woman who supports her to break up with them.

As reported extensively by LifeSiteNews, Clancy evaded conviction last week for the 2023 murder of her three children when a mistrial was declared after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. The fact that she did it was undisputed, but the defense argued she was not responsible due to “postpartum psychosis” that allegedly brought her to a point at which she decided to end her children’s lives before attempting to kill herself.

The full clip is viewable below from about 5:25-6:36.

“There is no universe that exists where a man would kill three of his children and be going to the courthouse, and hundreds of men would show up to rally behind him. That world doesn’t exist,” Fr. Reehil said during his homily. “But somehow there’s women out there that think this is a good thing. So now we are promoting killing children outside the womb. Is this not crazy? This is crazy.”

“Yes, I understand she was on all these drugs and all the other things. Seek help, you’re a grown woman! This is a catastrophe that … and we should pray for her. I think she has demons, to be honest,” the priest added.

California Democrats are trying to make ICE agents unemployable — at least, within the public sector.

Under a new Democrat-led bill called the Get the Feds Out (GTFO) Act, former ICE agents would be automatically disqualified from being hired by state, local, or county agencies.

This means they could not serve as police officers, teachers, judges, or social workers, to name just a few.

The bill moved forward in the state Legislature on Monday — alongside a measure to ban immigration authorities from using the new electric-shock gloves being rolled out across the nation.

The Los Angeles Times reported:

In a show of defiance to the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigrants, California lawmakers on Monday voted to ban federal immigration agents from being hired for many local and state government jobs and to outlaw electric-shock gloves similar to those that may be distributed to federal officers.

The two bills were among a slate of legislation approved by the Democratic-led state Legislature to thwart certain tactics and tools used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, such as arresting people who appear at courthouses for scheduled immigration hearings.

Canada’s retaliatory tariffs on a swathe of U.S. goods took effect on Tuesday after trade talks collapsed last month, as relations between Washington and Ottawa continue to sour.

The duties range from 15% to 50% across $27.6 billion worth of U.S. products, including dairy, agricultural equipment, paper, household appliances and electronics. Canadian tariffs on U.S. steel, aluminum and iron products doubled to 50%, while furniture and clothing were also hit with the highest rate.

Canada called the move a “dollar for dollar” response to U.S. levies on its own goods, which have been targeted by Section 338 tariffs. Its Department of Finance said it would protect Canadian workers, producers and manufacturers by allowing them to better compete with U.S. products sold in the domestic market.

What new tariff walls in U.S.-Canada trade war mean for the economy’s critical metals

Existing Canadian counter-tariffs against the U.S., including 25% on the politically sensitive autos sector, remain in place.

Trade talks between the longstanding allies fell apart at the end of August, with officials on each side blaming one another for the failure to reach a deal and publicly disagreeing over which areas they could not find compromise.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday called for a boycott of Canadian airplane manufacturer Bombardier, posting on Truth Social: “NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!”

The U.S. exported $333.6 billion worth of goods to Canada, and imported $381.9 billion from its northern neighbor. The pair share trade in many of the same sectors, including energy, vehicles, heavy machinery, aircraft, pharmaceuticals, gems and jewelry, furniture, clothing and a host of foods and drinks.

Democrats’ claims that an armed man “lunged” at Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton in a violent “attack” are unraveling after police released a dramatically different account of what happened.

Acton’s campaign initially announced that an “armed individual” had “lunged” at the Democrat during Sunday’s Canfield Fair, leaving “multiple people” injured.

The alarming account rapidly triggered condemnations of “political violence” from prominent Democrats across the country.

However, the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office subsequently revealed that the suspect’s weapons were never drawn and that the two people who fell were knocked over as security confronted the man while he pushed through the crowd.

Acton herself was never injured.

Police have also refrained from describing the confrontation as an “attack” or attempted assassination.

The central issue in a majority of contested U.S. House and Senate Races is becoming Data Centers. At a time when one party, the Democratic Party, is looking to convert America to the Progressive State, Americans are more concerned over data centers than losing their constitutional rights.

Republicans find themselves on the losing end of this issue with one candidate, Senator John Husted of Ohio, reflecting the new Republican strategy, join the fight against the data centers. He said “They’ve earned that backlash. They haven’t been as forthcoming about the benefits that will come in terms of local jobs and construction worker jobs and reduced property taxes, and they haven’t offered things like paying the energy bills for local communities, for the power plants they build.”

Data centers are all the rage in the 2026 midterm election cycle. Whether a candidate currently supports or has previously supported data centers and corporate subsidies for AI and tech companies has quickly become a potent attack line in several high-profile races across the country.

In two swing-state Senate races, data centers have become a massive issue, leaving several candidates vulnerable to attacks resurfacing their tech-friendly pasts.

Former Democratic Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, who once celebrated Amazon Web Services’ investments in Ohio, has attempted to portray his opponent, incumbent Republican Sen. Jon Husted, as “the face of data centers.” Brown has flooded the airwaves with millions of dollars of ads targeting Husted’s previous support for data center tax breaks while he served as Ohio’s lieutenant governor. Husted is now going after data centers and AI companies, accusing them of doing “a terrible job of talking about the value and virtue of it.”

“They’ve earned that backlash,” Husted said in late July. “They haven’t been as forthcoming about the benefits that will come in terms of local jobs and construction worker jobs and reduced property taxes, and they haven’t offered things like paying the energy bills for local communities, for the power plants they build.”

Michigan will test counting drivers’ miles through vehicle GPS and smartphones — even though more than 30% of residents told the state they worry about privacy.

The six-month pilot launches in February 2027 with 1,000 volunteers, Fox 17 reported. It will test odometer readings, in-vehicle telematics, a plug-in device and a smartphone app, according to minutes from an Aug. 24 meeting of the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) technical advisory committee.

GPS “can get you within two meters reliably today,” John Peracchio, a State Transportation Commission appointee helping design the pilot, said in a Feb. 4 interview with WDIV. MDOT’s own 2024 survey of 19,160 residents found that more than 30% were worried about data privacy and that 17% would refuse to provide mileage data, according to the department’s report.

“Michigan families are already struggling to afford everyday life, and the last thing they need is state government tracking their every move just to take more of their hard-earned money,” Michigan Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Instead of coming up with new ways to reach into drivers’ pockets and invade their privacy, Democrats need to end their corporate welfare and root out wasteful spending to fix our roads.”

Russiagate Is Finally Heading Somewhere Washington Hates: Under Oath – PJ Media– pjmedia.com
News Source

EXCERPT:

Washington has spent nearly a decade arguing about Russiagate in congressional hearings, cable studios, memoirs, podcasts, and carefully lawyered statements.

Now somebody is bringing subpoenas.

The Justice Department has begun compelling former government officials to testify before a federal grand jury in Florida investigating whether crimes were committed during the government’s Trump-Russia investigations.

From the Associated Press:

The Justice Department is demanding testimony before a Florida grand jury in an investigation aiming to establish an intelligence community conspiracy against President Donald Trump, according to multiple people familiar with the matter.

New subpoenas being issued to former government officials represent an escalation in the year-long investigation as the Justice Department pursues a loosely defined theory that members of the intelligence community who scrutinized Trump over the last decade, including over Russian interference in the 2016 election, conspired against him and violated his rights.

Investigators in recent days contacted some defense lawyers for witnesses advising them of forthcoming grand jury subpoenas. It was not clear how many as of Tuesday had received a subpoena or were still waiting to receive one, and the identities of the witnesses receiving subpoenas were also not immediately clear. The people who confirmed the subpoenas spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss a secretive grand jury investigation.

The subpoenas mark a significant escalation from the voluntary interviews investigators previously sought.

Former CIA Director John Brennan is a target of part of the investigation. Brennan’s lawyers say he committed no wrongdoing and has cooperated with previous reviews.

No indictment has been announced; a subpoena isn’t proof of a crime, and a grand jury investigation isn’t a conviction waiting for paperwork.

Plus, as the old joke goes, a grand jury can indict a ham sandwich.

But sworn testimony is different from another Sunday morning interview.

Attorney General Todd Blanche appointed former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova in April to help oversee the investigation. Prosecutors are examining decisions surrounding the intelligence community’s handling of Russian interference in the 2016 election and the government’s subsequent investigations involving Donald Trump’s campaign.

From the Associated Press:

The investigation is being run out of Florida, with the Justice Department in April bringing back into government service a top prosecutor from the Reagan administration, Joe diGenova, to serve as a counselor to the attorney general and help lead a team of agents and prosecutors.

diGenova, who had previously asked then-Attorney General Pam Bondi to appoint him to the job and has openly and repeatedly claimed Trump was the victim of an intelligence community conspiracy, declined to comment Tuesday when reached by the AP.

In an indication of the wide-ranging nature of the investigation, the AP reported last month that diGenova’s team has sought interviews with law enforcement officials involved in the 2022 FBI search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida. The search recovered a trove of classified documents that formed the basis of a since-abandoned Justice Department prosecution of Trump, who has long decried the FBI operation as an invasion of his privacy.

Brennan’s role deserves particular scrutiny because he headed the CIA when the intelligence community produced its January 2017 assessment of Russian election interference.

A declassified House Intelligence Committee report released in 2025 challenged parts of the process behind that assessment. The report said Brennan pushed for the inclusion of information from the Steele dossier, despite concerns about its credibility.

Brennan has disputed allegations that he manipulated intelligence or acted improperly.

Americans have heard competing versions of this history for years.

Trump and his allies say intelligence and law-enforcement institutions abused their authority while pursuing a political opponent. Brennan and other former officials maintain that Russia genuinely interfered in the 2016 election and that intelligence officials acted appropriately in assessing the threat.

Both propositions contain questions that deserve evidence rather than another round of television combat.

Russia did interfere in the election extensively, as the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee documented.

The Committee found that the Russian government engaged in an aggressive, multifaceted effort to influence, or attempt to influence, the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Parts of this effort are outlined in the Committee’s earlier volumes on election security, social media, the Obama Administration’s response to the threat, and the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). (U)

The fifth and final volume focuses on the counterintelligence threat, outlining a wide range of Russian efforts to influence the Trump Campaign and the 2016 election. In this volume the Committee lays out its findings in detail by looking at many aspects of the counterintelligence threat posed by the Russian influence operation.

For example, the Committee examined Paul Manafort’ s connections to Russian influence actors and the FBI’ s treatment of reporting produced by Christopher Steele. While the Committee does not describe the final result as a complete picture, this volume provides the most comprehensive description to date of Russia’s activities and the threat they posed.

This volume presents this information in topical sections in order to address coherently and in detail the wide variety of Russian actions. The events explained in these sections in many cases overlap, and references in each section will direct the reader to those overlapping parts of the volume. Immediately below is a summary of key findings from several sections.

But acknowledging Russian interference doesn’t settle whether every government action taken in response was justified, accurate, or lawful.

Those are separate questions.

A grand jury has advantages Washington’s usual political theater lacks. Witnesses can be compelled to appear. Evidence can be subpoenaed, testimony occurs under oath, and prosecutors can compare what witnesses say with documents and with one another.

Most importantly, television ratings aren’t the point.

If investigators uncover criminal conduct, follow the evidence and prosecute it.

If they don’t, say so.

The Trump administration shouldn’t use federal prosecutors to manufacture revenge against political enemies. Neither should former intelligence officials receive permanent immunity from scrutiny because investigating them might be described as revenge.

Government power is government power, regardless of whose name appears on the office door.

After almost 10 years of Russiagate accusations, counteraccusations, investigations, investigations of investigations, and enough television panels to constitute cruel and unusual punishment, Americans deserve something less glamorous.

Answers.

Under oath.

And maybe, finally, something will happen. Putting this as cleanly as possible, like my dad used to say, it’s time to poo or get off the pot.

EXCERPT:

Americans may know Elaine Chao as the former Bush and Trump-era cabinet official whose husband led the Senate Republican conference for more than two decades, but her involvement in government didn’t stop with roles in the United States. According to an explosive new Daily Caller News Foundation report, Chao “received at least four Chinese government positions since 2008.”

Several of these roles, first documented by the Chinese government and media, were in divisions of the “Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organ” the United Front Work Department (UFWD), which is known for its espionage and influence operations designed to sway global conversations and policy to align with CCP leader Xi Jinping’s political goals. The UFWD prides itself on co-opting Chinese nationals living overseas, particularly through “elite capture and public diplomacy,” to “advance Chinese influence, power and access to technology abroad.”

At least two of the Chao’s titles with UFWD-affiliated organizations appear to have overlapped with her time as a U.S. cabinet official.

“United front work damages U.S. interests through legal and illegal technology transfer, surveillance of Chinese diaspora communities, promotion of favorable narratives about the PRC through ostensibly independent voices, and the neutralization or harassment of critics of the CCP,” one memorandum from Congress’ select committee on the Chinese Communist Party detailed.

One of Chao’s alleged appointments, as advisor and fifth council committee member of the UFWD’s All-China Federation Of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFORC), partially coincided with her time as Trump’s Transportation Secretary. During that same period, 2012 to 2017, reporting suggests Chao and her father were also advisors to the UFWD’s China Overseas Friendship Association (COFA) located in Shanghai’s Jiading District. By 2019, Chao’s sister Angela became director of COFA’s national organization.

The U.S. Supreme Court has denied Missouri officials’ emergency request to use the state’s newly drawn congressional map in the November midterm election.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh denied the application Tuesday without a written explanation. The brief order leaves the Missouri Supreme Court’s ruling in place while election officials prepare for November.

That means Missouri will conduct the general election under the congressional districts adopted in 2022, even though the newer map was used for the August primary.

The emergency fight grew out of House Bill 1, a mid-decade redistricting measure approved by Missouri’s Republican-led legislature in September 2025 and signed by Gov. Mike Kehoe.

The map was drawn to improve Republican prospects in a Kansas City-area district. President Trump had encouraged Republican-led states to pursue new maps as control of the U.S. House remained closely contested.

Missouri used the new lines during its August primary. But a referendum campaign seeking a statewide vote on HB 1 collected more than 300,000 signatures and challenged Secretary of State Denny Hoskins’ decision to keep the question off the ballot.

On September 3, the Missouri Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the state constitution allows voters to approve or reject congressional redistricting legislation through a referendum.

The central question was whether the referendum power over “any act of the general assembly” reaches a congressional redistricting bill. The state’s high court concluded that it does because none of the constitution’s listed exceptions applied to HB 1.

The court also rejected the claim that election laws are categorically exempt from referendum. It noted that HB 1 contained no emergency clause and described the redistricting as optional because the districts enacted after the 2020 census remained available.

The justices ordered Hoskins to certify the petition and place HB 1 before voters in November. They barred officials from using the new districts unless voters approve the measure, leaving the 2022 lines in force for the general election.

In their emergency application to the U.S. Supreme Court, Missouri officials argued that switching maps between the primary and general election would create serious administrative and constitutional problems.

They said more than 1.2 million Missourians had already voted in the primary under the new districts. In their view, using different districts for the primary and general election would fracture a single election process and raise equal-protection concerns.

The filing warned that local officials would have to reassign hundreds of thousands of voters, explain new districts and revise months of election preparation in less than nine weeks. Missouri also pointed to federal deadlines for transmitting ballots to military and overseas voters.

The state further argued that the Missouri Supreme Court failed to account for federal election law when it restored the older districts. Officials asked Kavanaugh to pause the injunction while they pursued further review.

The challengers answered in an opposition filed Monday that HB 1 never legally took effect because the referendum petition suspended it under Missouri law.

They maintained that the 2022 districts never stopped being the lawful map for November. Their filing also said the federal claims had not been properly preserved in the state-court proceedings, creating a separate barrier to Supreme Court intervention.

The referendum supporters argued that state officials created the timing problem by waiting until August 4 to reject the petition, nearly eight months after organizers submitted more than 300,000 signatures. They disputed the claim that election administrators could not return to the earlier lines.

They urged Kavanaugh to leave the state court’s order untouched and allow voters to decide HB 1. Tuesday’s denial did exactly that for now, but it supplied no reasoning and did not resolve the broader constitutional arguments on the merits.

Attorney Marc Elias, whose firm represented the referendum supporters, called the decision a victory for his client and Missouri voters.

The political stakes are substantial. Missouri currently sends six Republicans and two Democrats to the U.S. House under the 2022 districts, while the newer map could have given Republicans a stronger opportunity to gain another seat.

For Missouri voters, the practical result is now clear: congressional candidates will compete under the 2022 map in November, while voters separately decide whether to approve or reject HB 1.

Democrats would gain control of House committees and subpoena power if they win a majority, giving them significantly greater ability to investigate the administration during Trump’s final two years in office.

Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., said he would focus on the Defense Department, including allegations of mismanagement and possible connections between federal defense spending and companies linked to Trump’s family.

Crow, who serves on the House Armed Services and Intelligence committees, also declined to rule out impeachment as a potential option.

“I won’t hesitate to use that tool if that’s the right one,” Crow told Fox News. “But there are other tools available to us, too.”

Canada is playing a dangerous game, first with its pushback on the Trump tariffs, and now with its cozying up to America’s greatest threat, China. Canadians learned from a Chinese news report their Prime Minister, Mark Carney, had been secretly negotiating with the CCP to develop a plan for military cooperation between the two countries. The move makes Canada a threat to U.S. security.

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government has quietly revived a formal military dialogue with China’s People’s Liberation Army that had been dormant for more than eight years.

Carney previously called China Canada’s “biggest security threat.”

And Canadians learned about the renewed dialogue from China.

Canadian and Chinese defence officials met in Ottawa on Sept. 4 for the fifth Canada-China Defence Coordination Dialogue.

The bilateral dialogue was established in 2013. Canada and China held four previous rounds — in 2013, 2014, 2016 and April 2018 — before the mechanism went dormant. The Sept. 4, 2026 meeting marked the first dialogue since then.

The eight-year gap refers specifically to the Defence Coordination Dialogue, not to an absence of all military or defence contact between Canada and China.

Not a week after 9/11, George W. And sitting right next to President Bush was Muzammil Siddiqi, president of the Islamic Society of North America, who last fall told a Washington crowd chanting pro-Hezbollah slogans, “America has to learn if you remain on the side of injustice, the wrath of God will come.”

Third-party data isn’t always reliable, expert says

International student enrollment is projected to drop by nearly 111,000 students this fall, which could cost the U.S. economy $3.4 billion and nearly 40,000 jobs, according to NAFSA: Association of International Educators.

“This downturn reflects the convergence of several headwinds: declining application volumes, persistent visa appointment bottlenecks, and newly restrictive immigration policy changes,” the NAFSA report states.

NAFSA is a lobbying group for international education and university exchange programs. The group’s projections might miss crucial context, some say.

A spokesperson from the Center for Immigration Studies told The College Fix that declines in international enrollment are not necessarily a bad thing.

“When the government begins enforcing the rules of an immigration program, people who were planning to misuse that program have less incentive to come,” Marguerite Telford said.

The August jobs report showed that hiring surged last month.

The US added 162,000 jobs last month, the Labor Department reported on Friday. Economists expected the US to have added 55,000 jobs last month, rebounding from an unexpected decline in jobs in July. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1%.

While inflation remains the central question of the day, Friday’s jobs report informs the Federal Reserve’s decision whether to hike interest rates or hold them steady later this month.

The August jobs report follows a string of indicators on US employment trends this week. Here’s a recap of what we learned in recent days about the “low hire, low fire” economy:

  • Hiring remained steady, according to the Labor Department’s monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS). The US added 7.3 million new job openings in July, which was little changed from the previous month.

  • Private employers added 38,000 jobs in August, below economists’ expectations for 47,000 new roles, according to payroll processor ADP. The healthcare sector accounted for the bulk of new jobs added, while manufacturing and professional services saw declines.

  • US companies announced fewer layoff plans in August, according to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. The firm recorded 53,000 layoff plans last month, making it the slowest August for layoffs since 2022.

  • Initial jobless claims ticked up slightly to 206,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, coming in above economists’ expectations of 205,000.

States’ laws ‘constitute blatant unequal treatment favoring illegal aliens over U.S. citizens,’ lawsuits claim

The Department of Justice recently filed lawsuits against New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington for their laws requiring in-state tuition prices be granted to illegal immigrants attending state universities.

These four new complaints—filed Aug. 27—mark the 18th through 21st cases of this kind since the Justice Department’s first lawsuit against Texas in June 2025. Most of the cases are on-going.

Christopher Hajec, deputy general council at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told The College Fix that he believes these lawsuits will continue to be filed, although he is not sure what state will be next.

Some states have attempted to skirt around the federal law by “not bas[ing] instate tuition for illegal aliens on residence, but on some proxy for residence, such as graduation from a high school in the state,” he said in a recent interview.

Every one of the 21 complaints filed over the last 15 months—from Texas up through Washington—cite a federal law that states that illegal immigrants cannot be eligible “on the basis of residence … for any postsecondary education benefit” unless that same benefit is available to U.S. citizens regardless of their residence.

Iran says “prohibited zone” near Hormuz to cover parts of Gulf of Oman and beyond

Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday that a new “prohibited zone” outside the Strait of Hormuz would cover parts of the Gulf of Oman and beyond, adding they would announce the exact coordinates later.

“It approximately starts from the direction of Chabahar, covering part of the Sea of Oman and another part of the Arabian Sea,” IRGC Spokesman Hossein Mohebi told state television. “If a vessel enters that area without coordination, it will be subject to our sanctions.”

On Monday, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said Tehran was planning to announce a maritime “exclusion zone” outside the strait where it intends to stop vessels attempting to transit the waterway without Iranian permission.

Houthis accuse Saudi Arabia of striking Yemeni prison, killing inmates and visitors

The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia on Wednesday of carrying out an airstrike on a Yemeni prison, killing inmates as well as women and children who were visiting.

In a statement on X, Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said the alleged strike on the prison in Al-Hazm, the capital of Yemen’s Al-Jawf province, took place on Monday and killed “a large number of prison inmates, along with a number of visitors including children and women.”

“The attempts by the Saudi enemy to evade responsibility for its crimes and aggression against our country will not exempt it from the consequences and repercussions of this aggression and criminality, no matter how much it tries to cover it up,” he added.

The Saudis have not responded to the Houthi claims.

The Houthis on Wednesday also accused Saudi Arabia of launching more than 30 strikes on several regions of Yemen, a day after Saudi authorities reported Houthi attacks had injured 73 people early on Tuesday, and temporarily shut several oil facilities.

Fighting in Yemen reignited last week, when the Houthis launched a major campaign to seize territory near the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait.

Iran condemns U.S. strike on oil tankers

Iran’s foreign ministry on Wednesday strongly condemned U.S. strikes on its oil tankers, describing the attacks the previous day as a threat to regional security.

“The aggressive actions by the United States against Iranian commercial vessels not only increase the dangers of tensions in the region but are also considered an overt threat to regional and international peace and security,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that Iranian forces had targeted U.S. military facilities in the region in “self-defense”.

U.S. Central Command said it disabled five Iranian tankers on Tuesday with strikes launched in response to unsuccessful Iranian missile attacks targeting a U.S. warship in recent days.

Several vessels in Gulf damaged, British maritime agency reports

Several vessels in the Persian Gulf region were on fire Wednesday, a U.K. Navy agency reported, after Iran said it had attacked more than a dozen ships trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz without its permission.

The U.K. Maritime Trade Operations center (UKMTO) said “several merchant vessels in the Northern Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman” were hit by “disabling fire as part of ongoing military activity in the region.”

The center did not name the ships in question, but the U.S. said Tuesday night it had destroyed 5 Iranian oil tankers in the gulf.

It also said a vessel 24 nautical miles northwest of Port Rashid, in the UAE, was listing, potentially due to an attack.

“The Master of a tanker has reported sighting a vessel listing while at anchor, possibly indicating water ingress following an attack from an unknown projectile,” it said.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said it had attacked two U.S. warships, eight oil tankers and 10 “non-compliant vessels” trying to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. military’s Central Command quickly denied that any American ships had been struck.

U.S. military denies Iran’s claim to have damaged U.S. warships with missile attack

The U.S. military’s Central Command denied on Wednesday Iran’s claim to have inflicted “heavy damage” on U.S. warships.

“No U.S. Navy warship has been struck; all IRGC attempted attacks failed,” CENTCOM said in a post on social media.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed earlier that its naval forces had targeted two U.S. warships, along with eight other vessels, and “inflicted heavy damage on them.”

CENTCOM dismissed the claim as “completely FALSE” and said U.S. forces had destroyed 10 Iranian tankers “just in the last week.”

Oil prices could hit $120, analysis finds, as Americans absorb $100 billion fuel hit

An analysis by Goldman Sachs has forecast that heightened attacks in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea could push global oil prices above $120 a barrel, which would add to the surging fuel costs Americans have faced during the Iran war.

The investment bank’s forecast implies a roughly 20% increase in the cost of Brent crude, the international benchmark, which is trading at nearly $100 a barrel. Oil prices have spiked in recent weeks as the Middle East conflict drags on, with U.S. military forces striking three Iranian oil tankers on Saturday and the Houthi rebels attacking Saudi oil facilities.

Iranian forces say they targeted American warships again

Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Wednesday that it had targeted two U.S. warships and eight other vessels in retaliation for U.S. strikes on five Iranian oil tankers the previous day.

The IRGC said its naval forces had targeted the vessels in the Persian Gulf region, claiming to have “inflicted heavy damage on them.”

There was no immediate response from the U.S. military, which said Tuesday that it had warned the crews of the five Iranian tankers to abandon ship “before the vessels were struck and rendered inoperable.”

The new attacks claimed by the IRGC are the latest in a series of flare-ups in fighting between the U.S. and Iran since a ceasefire agreed to by both sides in June fell apart over disagreements regarding control over ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil hits $100 per barrel for first time since July amid fighting flare-up

The price of Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil, hit $100 per barrel Wednesday morning, the highest it’s been since late July.

The increase is a continuation of an upward trend seen since August and follows a flare-up in fighting between the U.S. and Iran.

The U.S. announced late Tuesday it had struck 5 Iranian oil tankers in response to an attempted attack on its warships in the region. Iran retaliated by targeting a military base in Jordan that hosts U.S. forces. The Jordanian military said it intercepted 18 Iranian missiles and reported no casualties.

Protesters urge South Korea to not join U.S. war with Iran

Dozens of South Koreans urged their government on Wednesday not to deploy troops to the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The protesters across from the U.S. embassy compound in Seoul waved signs saying “Do not join a war of aggression” as the country’s leaders weigh a “contribution” to the waterway’s security.

“We cannot send our young people into a sea of death!” chanted the protesters on the steps outside Seoul’s Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.

The protest came a day after South Korean defence authorities said they had sent a fact-finding mission to assess the situation in Hormuz, while stressing that no decision had been made on any deployment.

South Korea said Friday it was considering “contributions” to U.S. security efforts along the strait  provided that its own military readiness was not compromised.

Iran has warned that any South Korean deployment would be “regarded as direct support for the party responsible for that aggression and will have serious consequences.”

Iran-backed Houthi group reports over 30 strikes across Yemen

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis reported more than 30 Saudi strikes on several regions on Wednesday, a day after the rebels launched major attacks on their neighbor, injuring dozens of people.

There has been no official comment from Saudi Arabia about the Houthi report.

Saudi authorities previously said that Houthi attacks caused temporary shutdowns at oil sites and injured 73 people early Tuesday. The rebels reported Saudi airstrikes following the attacks.

Deadly fighting reignited in Yemen last week, when the Houthis launched a major campaign to seize territory near the Bab al-Mandab strait.

The strait has become an increasingly important route for Saudi oil since Iran  effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, choking Gulf exports.

Price of oil trades at $99 per barrel again as open hostilities resume

The price of Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil, was trading at over $99 early Wednesday, in a continuation of the upward trend seen since August.

Meanwhile, the benchmark U.S. crude rose 1.2% to $94.17 a barrel.

Before the war began in February, a fifth of the world’s oil flowed through the Strait of Hormuz but since then, traffic has plummeted, with only small periods of temporary and limited recovery.

Iran launches missiles at U.S. targets in Jordan, state media says

Iran has launched missiles toward U.S. targets in Jordan, Iranian state-run media said, following the latest American strikes.

It’s the latest tit-for-tat retaliation after the U.S. military said it destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers following two attacks on a U.S. warship by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard over the past two days.

U.S. Central Command, when asked about the strikes on the Jordanian air base, said it had no information to offer.

Jordan’s military said its air defense systems intercepted 18 ballistic missiles launched toward its territory and two others fell in places where people do not live. It says it had no reports of casualties.

Jordan is a staunch U.S. ally that hosts American forces, making the kingdom’s military bases a target of repeated Iranian strikes.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Navy also warned crews of oil tankers near ports in Kuwait and Bahrain to immediately leave their vessels, saying the ships could be targeted in retaliation for the U.S. attacks on Iranian tankers.

CENTCOM confirms it struck five Iranian oil tankers

The U.S. military’s Central Command confirmed Tuesday it “destroyed” five oil tankers associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In a statement accompanied by video footage of the operation, CENTCOM said the strikes were in response to a set of unsuccessful Iranian missile attacks against a U.S. warship in recent days.

Four of the tankers were struck in the Gulf of Oman, according to CENTCOM, and a fifth was hit near Kharg Island, an island in the Persian Gulf that serves as Iran’s primary terminal for crude oil exports. It alleged the ships were part of Iran’s shadow fleet, a network of tankers used by Iran to export oil and generate revenue for the regime.

“American forces directed the crews to abandon ship before the vessels were struck and rendered inoperable,” CENTCOM said.

CBS News had reported on a U.S. attack against Iranian tankers earlier Tuesday.

CENTCOM also struck three Iranian oil tankers last weekend in retaliation for an earlier attempted Iranian attack against U.S. Navy ships.

An Illinois woman charged with killing her 2-year-old son had been closely following the murder trial of Massachusetts mother Lindsay Clancy and was texting friends about the case just hours before her son was found dead, prosecutors said.

Corie Walsh, 40, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder after her son, Barrett, was found dead in the basement of the family’s suburban Chicago home on Sept. 1, according to court records obtained by NBC Chicago.

Prosecutors said Walsh had become “very invested” in Clancy’s nationally watched trial and was discussing it with friends until about 12:30 p.m. that day. A neighbor found Barrett less than four hours later.

Walsh was found elsewhere in the home with injuries authorities said were self-inflicted. Prosecutors said she later told investigators that she killed her son because she believed he was the “devil” and the “anti-Christ.” Her attorney, Andrea Lyon, told reporters Walsh was experiencing a psychotic episode and called the boy’s death a tragedy for the entire family.

Police were called to Walsh’s home in Frankfort, about 35 miles (56.33 kilometers) southwest of Chicago, shortly before 4 p.m. after a neighbor discovered Barrett in the basement, according to prosecutors’ petition seeking to keep Walsh jailed before trial.

The neighbor found the boy and began CPR while calling 911, prosecutors said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy determined that he died from asphyxia caused by ligature compression of the neck.

Police searching the house found Walsh fully dressed in a bathtub containing bloody water, prosecutors said. She had cuts to her wrists and thighs and was taken to a hospital with injuries authorities described as not life-threatening.
